Hi, I’m Rebecca.

I’ve always been curious about people and their stories.

Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent over a decade working in education as a primary school teacher, special needs teacher, SENCo and advisor. Throughout those years, I found myself increasingly interested not only in children’s learning and development, but in their emotional worlds, relationships and experiences. I was often drawn to understanding what might lie beneath behaviour, how children make sense of themselves and others, and how families can be supported to thrive together.

Today, I bring together my experience in education and SEND with my psychotherapy training to offer thoughtful, developmentally informed therapy for children, young people, adults and families.

Neurodiversity has been a significant thread throughout my personal life and career. Through my work with neurodivergent children, young people and their families, I have developed a deep appreciation for the many different ways people experience, understand and engage with the world. My aim is always to create a space where people feel genuinely seen, understood and accepted.

I offer weekly psychodynamic psychotherapy, drawing on play, creativity and conversation to help clients explore their feelings, make sense of their experiences and develop greater emotional resilience. My approach is warm, collaborative and grounded in curiosity. I believe that meaningful change often begins when we feel safe enough to explore difficult thoughts and feelings with someone alongside us.

Alongside individual therapy, I work closely with parents and carers, offering regular review meetings and opportunities to think together about what may be happening for a child or young person. Where helpful, I also collaborate with schools and other professionals to provide a joined-up, holistic approach.

Retraining as a psychotherapist allowed me to bring together two passions: supporting emotional wellbeing and understanding human development. I continue to be inspired by the complexity of people’s lives and feel privileged to work alongside clients as they develop greater understanding of themselves, their relationships and their potential.

My Approach

I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative space where children, young people, adults and families can explore their experiences and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. My work is grounded in curiosity, connection and respect for each person’s unique story. Together, we can make sense of difficulties, build on strengths and create opportunities for meaningful, lasting change.

Curiosity

I have always been fascinated by people and the experiences that shape them. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or behaviours, I seek to understand what may lie beneath the surface.

Connection

I believe that healing and growth happen in relationships. Therapy offers a safe, reliable and non-judgemental space where thoughts and feelings can be explored openly.

Understanding

My background in education, SEND and psychotherapy helps me understand people within the wider context of their lives, relationships, learning and development. Where helpful, I work collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals to support a holistic understanding of each person’s needs and strengths.
